Week 2: Beginning Assembly

Week 2:

The goal of this week is to begin assembly of the arduino components and check what code is needed for everything to work together.

This Week's Activities

We started initial assembly of the arduino and the components, along with the relevant code for the fingerprint sensor and the keypad.
 

Issues Encountered

There was an issue with the keypad where it would continuosly enter random digits despite none of the keys being pressed, we believe this to be an issue with the component itself.
 
The fingerprint sensor also had an issue where it wasn't detected by the arduino, but this was eventually rectified, and it can now detect and store fingerprints.

Week 4: This is the final week of actual project work before presentation in week 5. The work has been completed on both the software and hardware side of the arduino and its component connections, so we are finalising the work on the poster. This Week's Activities The inputs for the arduino have been tested extensively to determine any cases that errors might occur. During testing it was found that occasionally, the fingerprint sensor misdetects the input finger as wrong despite it being correct. This happens rarely, but it is still an issue to be considered.

To enhance security, the verification methods we have chosen to use a passcode entered via a keypad, coupled with fingerprint scanning using a biometric sensor.
